Rumors dispelled, Ian MacKaye is alive and well

Ian MacKaye, the man behind Fugazi, Minor Threat, Dischord and countless other projects is alive and well. Many of you wrote in with both the rumour and the denial of said rumour and rest assured that Ian is doing just fine. For those of you unaware of the rumour, a myspace bulletin and eventual Wikipedia entry started the internet hoax that Mr. MacKaye had been killed in a hit-and-run accident. The people behind the hoax were thorough, including a real hospital (Baltimore's St. Agnes Hospital) and have repeatedly changed the Wikipedia entry as well. The entry in the internet encyclopedia has been locked to prevent further misinformation. According to Ian himself, "I am happy to report that I am not dead."

Drop Kick Murphys to perform at the Red Sox Rally

DKM to perform at the Red Sox Rally on Monday, October 1 at City Hall Plaza from 4-7PM. It's open to everyone all ages and is free. The rally will also be shown on a tape-delay basis by NESN from 8:00 until 10:00 p.m. on Monday night.

"The Meanest Of Times" is available today from all music retail outlets. They are selling copies at their shows, through DKM mail order, on iTunes, at most retail stores and online. The first pressing is in a limited edition cover and they also have a deluxe double vinyl edition coming out next month. Screamfest Horror Convention

When: Friday, October 19th through Sunday, October 21th. Friday night doors will open at 5pm. Saturday and Sunday doors will open at 11am and will remain open until the party is over. Celebrity Guests will be signing autographs from 5pm - 10pm on Friday night, 11am - 5pm Saturday and Sunday.

How much: Tickets this year are $25 for a one day admission and $35 for the entire weekend – (this will give you admission for all events taking place Friday night through Sunday.) That’s only an extra $10 to make sure you don’t miss out on one thing! Tickets will be available on the website or you can purchase them at the convention.

What events will be taking place: We will have autograph signings by the celebrities, seminars, demonstrations, Q&As, live music, tattoos, horror movies, FREAK SHOW Horror Film Festival, and of course our exhibitor room selling all kinds of collectibles, and plenty of other surprises to be announced.
